The former President and CEO of Palomar Health will aid Medpricer in driving forward healthcare sourcing technology to improve quality of care

Medpricer, the leading purchased services cost management solution for the healthcare industry, today announced Bob Hemker, former president and CEO of Palomar Health, joined its Advisory Board.
Hemker has served on numerous boards and councils, and in many cases has held chair responsibilities. Some of the most notable organizations include: the California Hospital Association (CHA) Board of Trustees and Executive Committee, HFMA National CFO Forum Peer Council, the District Hospital Leadership Forum, Finance Committee, and the VHA West Coast Purchasing Coalition, among many others. Furthermore, as a seasoned professional, Hemker has held speaking roles around the country and appeared as a guest lecturer in undergraduate and post-graduate healthcare courses. His esteemed track record demonstrates Hemker’s extensive knowledge of the healthcare supply chain and willingness to improve the collective experience for all healthcare providers alike.
With 36 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Hemker’s career is highlighted with various c-suite roles that spanned for-profit, non-profit, and government acute care facilities across California and Hawaii. Most notably, Hemker held various positions in his 16-year tenure at Palomar Health. He was appointed as CFO in 2001 and was named CFO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal in 2009. When Hemker was appointed as CEO in 2014, he drove the strategic, financial and operational leadership of the network while working closely with community and staff members before retiring in 2018.
