Hospitals and medical groups are under constant pressure to reduce costs in order to provide patient-demanded services with the latest equipment and supplies. Professionals in the procurement arena are faced with many challenges. They lack resources such as accurate budgets and headcounts, as well as support from suppliers. We help hospitals and GPO’s overcome these challenges through a comprehensive suite of applications that bring real-time competition to hospital purchasing.

Leading hospitals recognize the need for new tools and resources that enhance the speed and effectiveness of their procurement process while cutting costs on physician-preferred equipment and supplies. We provide an e-sourcing platform with real-time bidding, bid analysis, bid ranking and electronic negotiation capabilities.

Most importantly, we combine innovative technology with an extensive background in the medical industry. This enables us to handle all the details of the RFQ creation process. We translate your information into clear, concise auctions or Web-RFQ’s, and advise you on how the timing and structure of your sourcing event can maximize you purchasing power. Your hospital is given its own web-portal; with one click, you can invite vendors to bid for your business in a real-time environment. We make sure that your sourcing event runs smoothly and that you realize maximum savings with a minimum of effort.

How the Web-RFQ works:
  • In a Web-RFQ, your hospital or private practice is the buyer, and equipment suppliers are the bidders.
  • You initiate a Web-RFQ for a specific piece of capital or disposable equipment through MedPricer.com. We will assist you in making sure that the timing, correct suppliers and contacts result in a satisfactory bid response.
  • Once the Web-RFQ has begun, suppliers evaluate your specifications and submit bids (price quotes) via the MedPricer e-sourcing platform.
  • Buyers evaluate new bids and select a leading bidder based on their preset criteria. Suppliers are notified electronically whether or not they are the leading bidder during the sourcing event, giving vendors who are not the leader time to adjust their bids. As competing bids continue to appear, buyers can select new leading bidders up until the close of the Web-RFQ. This adds transparency to the process that a closed or sealed bid system cannot achieve. With access to real-time information, suppliers can quickly respond to competition and make a counter proposal. The result is a true best market price, saving time and money for buyers and sellers.
  • Once the bid process is completed the buyer evaluates the bids, weighs other variables, and then makes the best value award.
