Chris Gormley, CEO

Mr. Gormley joined Medpricer in 2015. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of Medpricer's Board of Directors. Mr. Gormley's prior experience is a unique blend of leadership roles in the Cloud Technology, eSourcing, and Healthcare industries.

Prior to joining Medpricer, Mr. Gormley was CEO of Social Media Information (SMI), an early stage tech company that provides a cloud platform for investigating social media and open-source intelligence. As CEO, he grew SMI's revenues by 4x and customer count by nearly 5x.

Mr. Gormley has deep experience in electronic and strategic sourcing. He was an early employee of FreeMarkets (now SAP), the pioneer in electronic sourcing markets. Over six years at FreeMarkets, he was VP of Product Management, General Manager Asset Recovery, and Director of Market Making. Mr. Gormley doubled FreeMarket's new solutions revenue each year as VP of Product Management and created one of the largest cloud sourcing software subscription backlogs in the industry. He spearheaded strategic e-sourcing efforts in the automotive, discrete manufacturing, plastics and aerospace industries and was part of the team that took FreeMarkets public in 1999. Immediately prior to FreeMarkets, Mr. Gormley led client strategic sourcing teams at McKinsey and Company.

Mr. Gormley's healthcare experience comes from a global commercial leadership role at Omnyx, a $125 million GE Healthcare / UPMC joint venture focused on digital anatomic imaging. At Omnyx, Chris worked with leading healthcare organizations such as Memorial Sloan Kettering, Stanford and University of Toronto Medical Center. He oversaw Omnyx's relationship with GE sales personnel in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore and Australia.

Mr. Gormley holds an M.B.A. in Finance & Strategy from the Wharton School and a B.S. degree with high distinction in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.


James Bouchard, VP Operations

Mr. Bouchard joined Medpricer in 2008. He is responsible for the global delivery and operations of Medpricer's sourcing services and technical operations.

Prior to serving as VP of Operations, James was Director of Sourcing Operations. In this role, he was responsible for the delivery of all sourcing initiatives within purchased services, capital equipment, and medical/surgical contracts. His background in the legal field allows him to apply his expertise in contracts to the healthcare sector.

James Bouchard holds a BA in Political Science and Business Administration from Marist College.


Emil Layacan, VP Sales

Mr. Layacan joined Medpricer in 2013 is Vice President of Sales. Before this role, Mr. Layacan was a MedPricer customer.

With a decade of healthcare and supply chain experience, he brings strategic insight in matching hospital's needs to the Medpricer Solution. Previously, Mr. Layacan served as Supply Chain Director for the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, where, in 2011, he helped build and relocate two Orange Regional Medical Center facilities into one new building. He also developed the Value Analysis process for the System. Mr. Layacan's first Healthcare experience is with Mount Sinai in New York City, where he shifted from Hospital Finance to Operations as Director of Materials Management and Value Analysis. His Value Analysis Committees here have been cited as a Best Practice for effectively managing cost, quality and outcome, and for actively engaging stakeholders.

While at Mount Sinai, Mr. Layacan attended Baruch College's Executive Healthcare Leadership. In 2011, he was again nominated to participate in Cornell University's Academy of Healthcare Leadership, an Executive Program in Healthcare and Public Administration. He is a Certified Public Accountant, launching his professional career as a consultant with PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Mr. Layacan is a member of Mensa International.


Elsie Swarts, VP Legal

Ms. Swarts joined Medpricer in 2012, and is responsible for all legal aspects of the company's business operations. These include contracts, litigation, collections, compliance, insurance and risk management and sales audits. She also serves as the Corporate Secretary for the company.

Prior to Medpricer, Ms. Swarts was an Associate with the Connecticut law firm of Buckley and Buckley, where she specialized in social security claims litigation. Prior to that, she served as Contracts and Legal Manager for Consumer Legal Services LLC, in Connecticut where she focused on estate and personal bankruptcy law.

Ms. Swarts is a native of South Africa, where she spent the first 15 years of her career practicing as a legal advisor to major corporations such as Xerox, Mobil Oil Co., South African Airways and Altron. Her practice focused on debt restructuring, securities and collections. During this period, she successfully founded and sold two companies in this field.

Ms. Swarts immigrated to the United States in 2006, and is a naturalized American citizen. She holds an Associate's degree from Witwatersrand Business School, a Bachelor's degree in Business & Accounting from Potchefstroom University and a Master's of Law (JD) from the University of South Africa.


Rachael Rollins, Controller

Ms. Rollins joined Medpricer in 2011 and serves as the company's Controller. She is responsible for financial reporting and forecasting while also coordinating the daily operations within finance, accounting and human resources.

Ms. Rollins began her career as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche, serving public and private clients in the financial services and manufacturing industries. She later worked as a process accountant with PepsiCo, where she focused on the accounting, controls, and financial reporting for bottling production across three facilities.

Ms. Rollins is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She holds a BS and MS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
